In keeping with the holidays, I’d like to talk just a bit about gratitude. So many of us only take time to be grateful for the really big things in our lives, and spend much less time on the every day wonder around us. As I’m sitting here in my office, I look around at my surroundings. There is a rose bush right outside the window with one lone rose just hanging on despite the freeze we had the other night. In that rose, I see strength and stamina – encouraging me to take a big breath and stay focused on all that needs to be done this week, and still take care of myself and the needs of my clients.
All my authentic needs are met, and I am incredibly grateful for that. I am constantly being given opportunities to love and be loved. I am able to express my creativity in all that I do, from coaching, writing a blog, creating a presentation for a training opportunity, posting on Social Media sites, re-arranging my house, to cooking a meal. I am given opportunities, and time with loving friends and family, to cultivate my spirit multiple times a week. I am blessed with the basic necessities of life.
I am grateful for the opportunities to practice being humble, loving, and compassionate; for being able to forgive, and the opportunities given to me to not hold others responsible for my experiences, releasing critical judgment of myself as well as others. I am grateful for the clarity received as I grow in wisdom; seeing and understanding the illusion of life, experiencing others with compassion rather than judgment.
Sometimes we lose sight of these every day gratitude’s.
What is right and good in your life?
I wish you all love, laughter and joy in this season of gratitude and celebration. May your lives be blessed.
