Enjoy The Adventure
I’ve been talking to several people lately about their wish to transition from work they have done for many years to work that they “enjoy”. So many of us started jobs with the sole purpose in mind of making money, and it became difficult to leave and start over because we had taken on obligations and responsibilities. How many of you wish you had done things differently, and followed your passions right out of school? Well, it isn’t too late! It is never too late.
I have a friend, just turned 62, who is starting seminary school.
One of my clients, in her late 50’s, is working on her MBA.
Sometimes, we don’t know what we want to do when we are just starting out. It takes a series of experiences and opportunities for learning to show us where our passions lie, and what gives us joy. The other epiphany I have had – and it might not be an epiphany for anyone else – is that my passions and joy have changed throughout my life. I have grown, my known path has shifted several times, and as I learn more about me, I become more in tune with who I am, and who I want to be. And, I am more willing to step into the unknown than ever before.
No matter what your age – whether you are 25 or 65 – don’t be afraid to go after more knowledge, practice doing things you have never done before, experiment and take a few risks. You may find another facet to who you are that you wish to explore. Enjoy the adventure. Make the most of every minute you have in this life – no regrets.
What new adventure would you like to start today? I would love to hear from you!
